Another small miracle

We thought we were almost finished with our paperwork when we found out that due to a new law (which was introduced 10 days before we submitted our completed homestudy), we had to obtain a clearance from Taiwan stating I had not abused children when I lived there 10 years ago.

I was devastated.  I immediately enlisted the help of my former employer, Jeff, and he was able to get the paperwork I needed in just two weeks time.

While talking with Doug, I expressed how disappointed I was in the delay (every day is like an eternity when you are waiting for your child to come home).  He told me that I should have faith that other steps in the process would be quicker if I kept faith.  He was right.

Due to the untimely arrival of our paperwork and our exchange student's arrival/school registration, we were unable to drive to Boise.... leaving me the only option which was to mail the documents.  Keep in mind that this is the 4th state I have had to mail documents to.  Each state took about 2 weeks to get the documents back to me.

In order to speed up the process I sent a SASE directing the documents to our contact in Washington DC who will take the papers to the US State Dept and then to the Chinese Consulate.

On a whim, I decided to track the SASE I sent to the Idaho State government.  They sent it already!  They received it yesterday, completed the documents, and mailed them the SAME day to Washington DC.  Blessed be these wonderful people for their swift work.

The next step is to wait for the government offices in DC.  When I receive these documents, I can then forward the entire pile of paperwork I have to our adoption agency in Colorado.  Then I am DONE.  Done. Done. Done.  Then the REAL wait begins.

Oh thank you Idaho State Notary Division and thanks to Doug for instilling faith into my impatient mind.

Glad that things are continuing to progress. It is hard to wait for such a wonderful blessing as the addition of another family memeber. Keep the faith.
