Where is my boy?

For those who don't know, Doug and I are bringing home our son from China.  YES, there are boys available  from China.  In fact, there are more boys than girls available in the Waiting Child Program. These are kids with some kind of "special need".  Needs range from very minor things like a corrected cleft lip or extra finger to major things like Down Syndrome/CP/Etc.  The timeline for bringing home a boy is markedly shorter as well.  Seems too few families want the boys.  Argh.

We have been given two files to review so far.  Both files had findings with issues that could or could not be a major issue for the future.  We had to turn both down.  Ugh.  We've been through this twice before and have had excellent experiences with our big girls- both of whom were brought home through the WCP.

I'm having a difficult time turning down kids.  Who can do this?  Of course I know we have to do what's right for our family and I have faith that our son is out there and will be revealed at the right time.  It's just hard sometimes.  It's especially difficult to say "No. Sorry.  Can't take this child."  It's like saying, "This one doesn't deserve us."  Awful. Awful.

So, if everyone could say a little prayer or send good vibes that we find our son in a timely manner, we would appreciate it.  While you're at it, pray for all these sweet little loves that they find their homes.  And if you have the resources... ADOPT.  It's awesome.  Maybe your son or daughter is out there just waiting for you.

Adoption is not about "saving a soul".  It's simply about bringing your child home.  After all, sometimes the stork just gets the address wrong.

That is so cool that you are doing that! We are working with the Utah Foster Foundation to adopt eventually through them. There are so many children who need loving homes! Awesome for you and your family. You will find the right one and he will be lucky!
