Our dossier is officially on its way to China. Once the Chinese government (CCAA) receives the package, they will log in our information into the computer. This should happen sometime in the next 4 weeks. We then receive our official LID (log in date).
Then we wait 2-3 months for a document called the LOI (letter of intent) which we have to sign and return to agency who then sends it express mail to China. Meanwhile we have to work on getting our son's visa paperwork completed- a step that used to be done in China- now done before travel- our agency tells us this prolongs the wait a couple of weeks now. Lovely.
After those two steps are complete we wait for the coveted TA (travel approval) from China. This lets us know we are free to come travel. Our agency has to make an appointment with the US consualte (CA- consulate appointment) before we can make our travel arrangements. Once that is received we will have our dates confirmed and leave- usually within 2-3 weeks.
